A volcanic eruption in Iceland threw trans-Atlantic flight into disarray Thursday, forcing some carriers leaving San Francisco’s airport to cancel trips to London and Paris.

AirTran Airways had another record quarter for traffic, the airline said Monday.
Traffic, also known as revenue passenger miles, jumped 7.5 percent to 4.4 million in the first quarter. Traffic also spiked 9.6 percent in March.

A Michigan executive has entered a guilty plea in an Oregon court to charges that he participated in defrauding the U.S. government of more than $200 million in tax revenue.
