Batavia paper switches to Buffalo printer
The Batavia Daily News is now being published in downtown Buffalo.
The Daily News ran its own presses for the last time on Friday. Its 13,000 daily copies will now be printed by the Buffalo News.
The Batavia newspaper’s five pressmen are being laid off, along with two maintenance workers, a mailroom employee and 15 to 20 part-time workers.
Batavia Newspaper Corp., the Daily News’ parent company, earlier this year lost its contract to publish the Western New York edition of USA Today, leading to extensive layoffs in June high quality business cards. It announced shortly thereafter that it would oursource the Daily News as well.
