Cardinal exec added to Wexner Center Foundation board

The foundation arm of Ohio State University’s Wexner Center for the Arts has added a Cardinal Health Inc. communications executive to its boardroom.

The Wexner Center Foundation this week appointed to its board Shelley Bird, executive vice president of public affairs at Dublin-based Cardinal (NYSE:CAH). At the pharmaceutical and health-care products distributor, she’s in charge of community relations, crisis communications, marketing and branding along with the company’s online presence.

Wexner Foundation Chairman Leslie Wexner, also chief of Columbus-based Limited Brands Inc. (NYSE:LTD), said in a release that Bird will “bring to the Wexner Center board a broader perspective and invaluable experience in the areas of public relations and branding.”

Bird’s experience before arriving at Cardinal includes stints at NCR Corp. (NYSE:NCR), Philips Consumer Communications LP and public relations giant Hill and Knowlton. She has a master’s in communications management and a doctoral degree in communication from the University of South Australia.
